Warmer Days
This covered bridge was a location that caught my eye when I was looking into the region.
When I travel somewhere I will look at all points of interest and then narrow down the ones I think have potential. So, for covered bridges, on this trip I literally looked through every page of my Vermont, New York, New Hampshire, and Maine atlases. I also researched every single covered bridge in each state online.
This is one that made me want to look into it further. In doing so I always look at topographical maps in my atlas, on Google maps, as well as on Google Earth to start. This covered bridge had what appeared to be a small waterfall below it and by looking at the angles for the shot I thought I could get it into the shot.
Now, I wasn’t just going to get a covered bridge but finding that small, unnamed (?), waterfall or cascade bumped that location to one of the top covered bridge locations on my trip.
I wasn’t unable to find any more information about this section of river online so it was up to actually going and seeing what the area had as the next step.
I was more than happy when I walked across that covered bridge for the first time and looked downstream to see the small area that I had found months earlier in my office!
