The Road Less Traveled
I followed the GPS to one of my favorite roads in the country, Botany Bay Road. I pulled down the washboard-laden road shortly after midnight. As my van rocked and bounced down the road, I reached down and flipped the switch to my LED lights on the front of the van.
Like someone turning on the lights in the morning, the forest came alive! The old oak trees reaching across the road pulled at the trees from the other side blocking out the sky. I drove under the canopy of oaks to the end of the island to see if I could scope out my shot that night. I couldn’t, but I was close to the location for morning.
The next morning brought with it clouds and plenty of rain. I never got the shot I wanted that morning, but this shot coming back that morning would forever hold a special place in my heart!
